Community First Becomes Magnify Credit Union

Español

Dear Members,

I’m writing to tell you about some exciting new changes at Community First Credit Union. Your credit union has experienced stable growth and success in recent years, and with this success comes some changes for the better. This summer, the name of Community First Credit Union will change to Magnify.

Our new name reinforces our fresh, new focus: “Simplify banking. Magnify life.” We’re here to provide you with the tools you need to realize your financial dreams – quickly, conveniently, and with a smile. So you can spend more time living your life to the fullest.

While our name is changing, we remain the same credit union that has been serving the people of Central Florida since 1950. The same management, same staff, same friendly service that you’ve come to know. And perhaps most importantly, the same owners – YOU. Unlike many banks in recent months, we are in a stronger financial position than ever before. Your credit union continues to post strong earnings and is well-capitalized. Because we are a not-for-profit financial cooperative with no stockholders to pay, we invest these earnings into “magnifying” our service to our 8,800 member/owners. To illustrate this point, I’d like to tell you about some of our latest initiatives:

  • On February 19, we opened the Green & Gold Branch at George Jenkins High School in Lakeland. This innovative new branch is run by the students and is open to all students, staff and faculty at the school. Our goal is to educate these students in all aspects of financial management.

  • This summer, we’ll open another student branch at Traviss Career Center in Lakeland. This full-service branch includes a drive-thru facility, and will be staffed by students as part of a certified teller training program. It will be open to the general public, as well as to the students, staff and faculty of Traviss Career Center.

  • Also this summer, we’ll unveil a new state-of-the-art, full-service branch in South Lakeland. This flagship branch is aligned with our goals of financial education and environmental awareness. It will be the first building in Polk County to achieve a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold level of certification. It will also be the first net-zero energy commercial building in Florida. This extraordinary facility will challenge your perceptions of what a credit union branch can be. We’ll tell you more about its innovative and fun-filled offerings as we move closer to the grand opening.

As you can see, it’s an exciting time to be a member of Community First Credit Union, soon to be Magnify. We hope that you will embrace and enjoy our new name as much as we do. And we hope to see you at one of our new branches very soon. We exist to help you simplify your banking, and magnify your life.

Best Regards,

John Santarpia,
President/CEO
